NYC MARATHON 2025

I'm Running the NYC Marathon — And I Need Your Help

Hello!

I am beyond excited to share that I have been selected to run the 2025 New York City Marathon in support of cerebral palsy, a cause that holds a deep personal significance to me. I am running to raise $5,000 to help fund groundbreaking medical research and accelerate the development of emerging assistive technology. Every dollar brings us closer to a more accessible and inclusive future for those with cerebral palsy.

For me, this isn’t just another marathon—it’s personal.  My older brother, Alex, was born with severe cerebral palsy. Alex faced more challenges in a day than most of us do in a lifetime—but he met them all with strength, resilience and a remarkable spirit. On September 13th, 2022, Alex passed away very unexpectedly. Alex and I shared a very close-knit bond. I would not be the person I am today if it was not for my brother. Alex inspired me to devote my education and career to earn my doctorate in occupational therapy so I too could help those living with cerebral palsy.

For those that may not know what cerebral palsy is, I would like to provide a quick description. Cerebral Palsy is the most common motor disability in childhood; however, CP is often not talked about. Between 1-4 babies for every 1,000 born are diagnosed with cerebral palsy (approx. 8,000-10,000 infants each year). The cause of cerebral palsy and its effect on function varies from person to person but is often caused by damage that occurs to the brain, most often right before birth or immediately after birth. Cerebral palsy affects movement and posture and can range from mild to severe. There is currently no cure for cerebral palsy.

By running and fundraising for CPARF, I hope to honor my brother's life and help improve the lives of others living with cerebral palsy. Every mile I run will be fueled by love, determination, and the hope of creating a more inclusive and accessible future. Your donation—big or small—can make a real difference. Thank you so much for being part of this journey with me!
