Dani’s Strength, My Stride - NYC Marathon 2025
Hello!
I’m thrilled (and a little nervous!) to share that this year I’ve been selected to run the 2025 TCS New York City Marathon. I’m running every mile for my older sister, Danielle, as part of the Cerebral Palsy Alliance’s Athletes for Accessibility team — and I need your support.
I’m a middle school teacher from El Paso, TX, and most days I’m in the classroom trying to make a difference, but this year I’ve taken on something outside my comfort zone —running 26.2 miles through the streets of New York City, for Dani.
Dani has cerebral palsy, but that doesn’t even begin to define her. She’s the strongest person I know. She has the most positive mindset, takes any challenge without hesitation, and somehow always manages to lift everyone around her. Her happiness is truly contagious — she lights up every room she walks into.
I’m running to raise $5,000 to help fund groundbreaking medical research and accelerate the development of emerging assistive technology. Every dollar brings us closer to a more accessible and inclusive future, that gives people like Dani more independence, mobility, and opportunity.
This marathon means more than just crossing a finish line — it’s about honoring my sister's strength, and doing something hard in her name. Every mile, every stride is for her. And I would love your support along the way.

Monday 2nd JunI’m so excited to share that I’ve raised nearly $2,000 toward my $5,000 goal for the Cerebral Palsy Research Foundation as I train for the NYC Marathon this fall!
