Sitting Around Doing Something Important

I'm raising money for Cerebral Palsy Alliance Research Foundation (CPARF) again, but this time, I’m taking a stand by sitting and I’d love your support!*

I'm reading, writing, painting, watching comedy specials, (re)watching TV shows, and doing other not-physically-active stuff as frequently as possible for as long as possible! Let's see how many hours I can do in a row! I know my Couch Potato Challenge is fun and silly, but I'm doing it to support CPARF and highlight important facts:

• My biggest accessibility requirement is a place to sit! Yes, I can walk for a while and even do it faster than a lot of other folks in New York (at least for now), but standing still is harder now. Give me a chair, couch, or ledge to perch on, and I'll feel more comfortable physically and mentally.
• Rest is really important for people with CP. We use up to 5x the energy of people without CP in our daily lives (SERIOUSLY!), and we're more likely to fall when we're tired.
• It’s hard to get around, so sometimes we get stuck in one spot. The world isn’t accessible for people with CP, and we can get stuck in — or outside — one place with no way to get where we need to be.

Every dollar you donate will make a difference. You'll help fund life-changing research that will unlock movement for people with CP — from holding their head up for the first time to taking steps in ways they never have before. Your generosity will support research into the chronic pain that affects 14.5 million people with CP — including me. But more than anything, I'll know that you're even more awesome than I originally thought because you're supporting me doing something unconventional all to support a cause that's extra-close to my heart.
